When is the RRSP contribution deadline for 2013
Did you know that the RRSP contribution deadline for the 2013 tax year is Monday March 3, 2014. If you read my other article why you would want to contribute to your rrsp today and would like to make a contribution then Contributions can be made through your investment advisor, financial institution and in most cases online, over the phone or in person.
Any contributions made in the first 60 days of the year can be claimed in 2013 or can be carried forward and claimed in future years.
RRSP Limit
You should ensure that you do not go over your RRSP limit as excess contributions can incur penalties.
RRSP is restricted to 18% of your earned income and the maximum RRSP contribution limit for 2013 is $23,820. For 2014 the limit is increased to $24,270.
